Hyattsville's City Council and staff have been made aware that Prince George's County has approved the Use and Occupancy Permit for the Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to expand their existing office space in University Town Center.
While the City of Hyattsville does not have authority over permitting and zoning within City limits, we are committed to working with our partners at the County and State levels to monitor the situation and coordinate efforts to protect our residents.
The City of Hyattsville's staff, including the Hyattsville Police Department, does not participate in immigration enforcement. We encourage all community members to know your rights if you or a family member are approached by ICE. You can find guidance and resources at hyattsville.org/assistance.
