 🏨 Louisville is set to transform one of its most iconic buildings into a world‑class destination:
- The Humana Tower will be reimagined as a 1,000‑room convention center hotel, bringing new jobs, visitors from around the country, and revenue to the city.
- Poe Companies will lead the $600–700 million redevelopment, featuring restaurants, 100,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and a 40,000 sq. ft. grand ballroom.
 🍕Mayor Greenberg announced the first four restaurant projects supported by the South End Incentive Fund, which was created using community feedback to attract quality dining options, reduce commercial vacancy, and spark renewed investment in the South End.
- LongHorn Steakhouse, Crumbl Cookies, and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will open, with expansions on the way at Derby City Pizza's current location on Dixie Highway.

🏘️ Louisville continues to make progress creating safe, quality, affordable homes across the city:

Dosker Manor: All residents have been fully relocated from the aging complex at Dosker Manor, paving the way for a new era at the Louisville Metro Housing Authority.

PortShaw: 38 new units of affordable housing are now open at PortShaw in Shawnee, which also offers on‑site parking, 24/7 security, and wraparound services like tutoring, financial literacy, and support with transitioning to homeownership.
 🛝 Mayor Craig Greenberg celebrated the opening of the brand‑new Hounz Lane Park playground, featuring modern climbing elements, slides, swings, and multi‑age play zones.
- The new playground builds on other recent enhancements at the park, including a popular rock‑climbing boulder installed in 2025.
 🍰 Business is booming for new event spaces and restaurants in and around Nulu and Butchertown:
- Mayor Greenberg joined the grand opening of Mashup Food Hall featuring Cold Smoke Bagels, Red Top Hotdogs, and other spots to eat plus a full bar, event spaces, and coworking spaces.

Big Nita’s Cheesecakes continues to draw lines for “the best cheesecake in the country" as Mayor Greenberg declared Big Nita’s Cheesecakes Day on February 20.

Chica’s Cantina opened in Butchertown, serving modern Mexican cuisine led by husband-and-wife duo Vikrant Multani and Christian Nava who also own Shahar.

Grow Up Great: A $250K PNC Foundation Grow Up Great grant will expand early-literacy programs at Louisville Free Public Library branches citywide.

Book Works: The Book Works Louisville is now at Shelby Park Community Center, offering free academic support and connecting students with critical resources.

Bezos Academy: Applications are open through April 20 for free, full‑day preschool for 3- and 4‑year‑olds for the 2026-2027 school year.
