Louisville Metro Completes South Beckley Station Road Shared Use Path

Louisville Metro Public Works, in partnership with Metro Council District 11, is proud to announce the completion of the South Beckley Station Road Shared Use Path (SUP), a transformative project connecting pedestrians and cyclists to the Parklands of Floyds Fork. This key infrastructure enhancement will provide safer, more accessible pathways for the community.

Throughout the project, several engineering challenges were successfully navigated, including:

  • Excavating solid rock along the hillside without acquiring additional right-of-way

  • Safeguarding vital infrastructure, including a major water main and an AT&T fiber optic transmission line

  • Securing KYTC & FHWA encroachment permits for work beneath Interstate 64

  • Restoring tree coverage within the Parklands footprint

  • Relocating the neighboring subdivision’s irrigation system

The project was led by All Terrain Paving & Construction, LLC, demonstrating expert coordination and execution.

To celebrate this milestone, Louisville Metro Public Works and Metro Council District 11 (CM Kevin Kramer) invite the public to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Community members, local officials, and stakeholders are encouraged to join in marking this achievement.
