May 10 - Hammer's Lou Adopts Adoption Event

Lou Adopts

Saturday May 10, 2025
Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center
Noon-4:00pm

The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) with Metro Animal Services (MAS) is hosting the third annual Hammer’s Lou Adopts, a mega adoption event aiming to find loving homes for nearly 200 adoptable local dogs and puppies. Once again sponsored by Isaacs & Isaacs Personal Injury Lawyers, Hammer’s Lou Adopts will offer on-site adoptions.

After finding homes for 270 dogs in the last two years, we are excited to find homes for more homes for more dogs!

KHS and MAS will be joined at Hammer’s Lou Adopts by several other local shelters to offer the public a large variety of friendly, loving local dogs and puppies who are available for adoption on-site.

Adoption fees will vary by shelter. Jefferson County adopters will be required to pay a $10.50 licensing fee for each adoption. All the dogs and puppies will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Adopters are encouraged to bring their resident dogs so they can meet any potential dog siblings and to bring their dogs’ vaccine records.

For more information visit: Hammer's Lou Adopts

PVA Areas

How To Appeal Assessment

If you believe the assessed value is not correct, The Jefferson County PVA wants you to know: You have a right to appeal. The mission of the PVA is to provide fair and equitable assessments for all property owners in Jefferson County.  However, the PVA does not know every detail or condition of your property. If you believe the PVA assessed value does not represent the fair-market value of your property, you have a right to appeal your assessment.

The first step of the appeal process is to complete the PVA Online Conference which is available at www.jeffersonpva.ky.gov from April 25, 2025 at noon EDT, until May 19, 2025 at 4pm EDT. Most people prefer to complete the appeal using online self-service. However, if you need assistance with the Online Conference, PVA staff will be available and ready to assist you.

In-Person Appeal Assistance at the Southwest and South-Central Library Branches weekdays from April 28 through May 19 from 9 am to 4 pm.

PVA Office By Appointment: Weekdays April 25-May 19, 8am-4pm EDT and 2 Saturdays, May 10 and 17, 10am-1pm EDT at the PVA Office, 815 W. Market Street, suite 400. Call (502) 574-6224 to reserve a time.

By telephone: Accommodations will be made for property owners with limited mobility and access to technology. Call 502-574-6224 to reserve a time for a telephone conference.
