Louisville Water’s residual line project along River Road is progressing, and we have exciting news! We are making great progress and expect to wrap up work in Zone 1 between Zorn Avenue and Blankenbaker Lane by mid-May.
This allows us to start our work in Zone 2 earlier than expected. As part of our transition into Zone 2 (River Road between Blankenbaker Lane and Lime Kiln Lane), we expect to begin work at the intersection of River Road and Blankenbaker Lane next week.
Beginning week of May 5:
· We will close the intersection of Blankenbaker Lane and River Road for one to two weeks so we can lay pipe across that intersection.
· The transition from Zone 1 to Zone 2 is expected to last approximately two weeks. During this time, we will be paving along River Road where we already worked. Once the transition is complete, all of Zone 1 will be open to regular traffic from Blankenbaker Lane to Zorn Avenue.
· Access to Zone 2 will be limited to local access only. There will be staggered barricades at the intersection of Lime Kiln Lane and River Road to provide access for residents and visitors.
· Residents in Zone 2 should use Lime Kiln Lane to access River Road until our active construction zone passes their location, at which time their access to River Road switches to Blankenbaker Lane.
Work in Zone 2 is expected to last approximately three to six months.
Louisville Water will continue to provide weekly updates on our project webpage and through our email newsletters to everyone who has signed up for project updates. Our new active construction zone maps for the week of May 5 – May 11 will be updated by the end of this week.
