COMMUNICATION UPDATES FROM DEPT. OF TRANSPORTION

West Kentucky Street and South 5th Street are undergoing major improvements
to help create a safer and more welcoming corridor.

Construction for the West Kentucky Street project is in progress. The aim is to
convert W. Kentucky Street (8th to 5th) and S. 5th Street (W. Catherine to W.
Breckinridge) into two-way streets. Each phase will take approximately 10
weeks to complete. And completion of the entire project is expected by July 31,
2025, weather permitting.

Communication to nearby businesses is a work in progress and we have
reached out to a large majority of our stakeholders, and we have attempted to
reach residents in this area by knocking on doors and conveying the project
plans.

Daily work hours are 7 AM – 4 PM Monday – Friday and the roads are closed to
through traffic.

Permit: PW-REP-25-00710 is pending final approval. Questions have surfaced
regarding the notification plan (which is now complete) and traffic plan details
and those questions are being addressed.

For any additional questions, please feel free to contact me at 502-574-5931 (W) or 502-396-4699 (M).
