TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Construction to Replace Clark Station Road Bridge over Long Run Creek Beginning Monday, April 21, in Jefferson County
Full closure of the bridge through August 1
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 8, 2025) – The Clark Station Road Bridge over Long Run Creek in Jefferson County is scheduled to close on Monday, April 21, for a bridge replacement project.
The project includes the demolition of the existing bridge and the construction of the replacement bridge. Hall Contracting of Kentucky, INC., is completing the work under a $845,000 contract.
Work will begin Monday, April 21, and construction will require the full closure of the existing bridge through August 1, 2025. The suggested detour is to follow U.S. 60 to KY 1531, then take Old Clark Station Road to reach Clark Station Road. Motorists should obey restrictions, follow the signed detour, and plan ahead when traveling.
Yesterday evening a large white truck was witnessed and REPORTED to 911 for moving the water barricades away from the road closure in the 7300 block of Echo Trail. Please understand that the road was closed to PREVENT accidents. The integrity of the hillside is NOT STABLE and is NOT SAFE for cars to traverse.
Cameras are being installed this morning and anyone caught on camera moving the barricades will be held accountable.
The bridge repair is estimated to take two weeks, but is weather dependent.
Contract crews to perform bridge repairs
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 9, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of lane closures on Interstate 265 South (Gene Snyder Freeway) beginning Friday, April 11, in Jefferson County. I-265 South will be reduced to one lane at mile point 25.4 (at the bridge over I-64) beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, through 6 a.m. on Monday, April 14. The lane closures are necessary as contract crews work to apply a latex overlay to the bridge as part of the I-Move Kentucky project. This treatment will extend the structure’s lifespan and improve roadway drivability. Drivers should plan ahead for increased travel times, heed signage, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
