Dear neighbors, my hope is that by the time you’re reading this, the ice on your street is melting and your trash has been picked up. (If not, let us know!) I want to thank the Public Works teams who worked hard to make the city navigable once again, and the District 10 team who fielded your concerns. We know that there is always room to improve.
The storms made for a tumultuous introduction to Metro Council, but now I have a few meetings under my belt. I am happy to be serving as the Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee and a member of the Parks & Sustainability and Planning & Zoning Committees. From here, I can monitor how Metro Council members across the city spend their neighborhood and community infrastructure funds, as well as advocate for our great D10 parks, from PeeWee to Joe Creason, and support responsible expansion and improvement of housing and businesses across Louisville.
If you can, please join me at the Café LOUIE event at the Highlands-Shelby Park Library on Saturday, January 25 at 9 a.m. Looking forward to seeing many of you soon.
Councilwoman Raymond will be at the Highlands-Shelby Park Cafe LOUIE tomorrow morning, along with Senator Cassie Chambers Armstrong (19), Councilman J.P. Lyninger (6) and Councilmember Ben Reno-Weber (8). The event is 9 to 10 a.m.
Café LOUIE is an informal gathering of civic minded individuals interested in meeting with their elected officials to discuss local issues. When you arrive, grab a cup of coffee and fill out a notecard with your specific question(s). After a brief introduction of elected officials and special guests, a trained facilitator will direct your questions to officials for comment and discussion.
