August 15th Metro Council Budget Commitee Meeting-  Special Discussion on External Agency Funding

Laela Kashan, Director of Advocacy and Engagement of the Kentucky Nonprofit Network (KNN); Mandy Marler, Vice President Government Affairs at Bart Baldwin Consulting engaged in a Special Discussion with the Metro Council Budget Committee on language included in the FY25 Approved Budget pertaining to the External Agency Fund Grant Program (EAF). The Louisville Nonprofit Coalition (LouNC) is a local alliance of 33 Louisville-based KNN members, including one arts and culture member organization. KNN and LouNC have initiated an engagement process to solicit feedback from local nonprofits about Metro’s Grants and Contracts processes.

Comprehensive Cultural Plan

The Office of Arts + Creative Industries has begun the first steps of a strategic planning process focused on Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy.  Columbus-based consulting firm, Designing Local has been selected to work with Metro Government as we map ways to better support Louisville’s art ecosystem.

Story Telling Program 

A new nonprofit accelerator fund has been established at Leadership Louisville. A program for non-profits will honor Old National Bank shooting victim Tommy Elliot. Seven nonprofits will be given the opportunity to tell their inspiring story.

NEA Funding Available

Don’t miss this funding! You may have read about the Grants for Arts Projects Opportunity in the recent Metro Creates Newsletter, but if you didn’t there is still time to apply! The Office of Arts + Creative Industries received support from the National Endowment for the Arts to provide five awards of $25,000 to facilitate Arts projects and programming in Jefferson County. The application deadline is August 30th at 5pm. Learn more about the opportunity by visiting our web page and watching the applicant orientation.
