This past weekend's "Meet Your Legislators" event was a Success!

 This past Saturday, March 11th, Councilwoman Parker (pictured below) participated in the annual Cafe Louie "Meet Your Legislators" event at the Northeast Regional Library in District 18. It was an opportunity to meet your local legislators, ask questions and engage in conversation about local and State issues.
 Also attending was Metro Councilmen Scott Reed (D-16), Stuart Benson (D-20), Markus Winkler (D-17) along with State Representative Jason Nemes. The event was well attended and everyone that wanted, was able to ask questions.
 Thank you to everyone who attended and a special thank you to the Northeast Regional Library, the Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library for hosting!

The first "Mayor's Night Out" of 2023 a Success!

On Wednesday (the 15th) Mayor Greenberg and Metro Government held the first of four "Mayor's Night Out" events at the Northeast YMCA, 9400 Mill Brook Rd in District 18.
 The Mayor and numerous Metro agencies (Public Works, Animal Services, LMPD, etc...)  were on hand to answer questions and speck to the public. These events are being held to give the public a chance to meet the Mayor and agency personnel who can possibly answer your concerns directly.
 Councilwoman Parker (seen below with Councilman Jeff Hudson D-23) as well as several other Councilmen were on hand to answer questions as well!
 Thank you to everyone who participated and all those in attendance. The next Mayor's Night Out" event is Thursday, May 18th at the South Louisville Community Center, 2911 Taylor Blvd.

The Lowe Elementary School Robotics Teams Need You!

Recently, Lowe Elementary School, 210 Oxfordshire Lane in District 18 had both their Robotics Teams (pictured below) win the Kentucky State Robotics Championship! This gives these 5th grade students the opportunity to compete at the World Robotics Championship in Dallas Texas in a little under 4 weeks.
 The teams are diligently looking for sponsors or grants to help them with registration ($2,400 alone), transportation, lodging, etc. for the students, coaches and family chaperones.
 They would appreciate any information to assist them on their adventure and help these future engineers participate in this once in a lifetime experience.

The latest Metro Clean Collaborative Crew Totals

Louisville Metro seal

The Clean Collaborative Crew removed 385.5 bags of litter, 23 tires, and 167 other items from 85.46 curb miles and completed 8 service requests. The Louisville Downtown Partnership’s Clean Collaborative Crew collected 683 pounds of litter and debris between March 6 and March 12 from their expanded area.

The last Metro funded interstate litter cleanup is currently in progress. For the cleanup in February, the contractor removed approximately 3,034 bags of litter/debris from the interstates.

Since January 2023, the Clean Collaborative Crew has completed 183 service requests and removed 3,394.5 bags of litter, 274 tires, and 1,361 other items from 744.21 curb miles. In addition, Louisville Downtown Partnership’s Clean Collaborative Crew has collected 2,874 pounds from their downtown expanded area since January 2023
