Newton's Flag is On the Go!

Make sure to take a mini Newton flag on your spring break adventures and you could win! We are doing a Newton's Flag is on the Go competition.   All you have to do is snap a photo of the Newton flag on your vacation and send the picture to ChooseNewton@NewtonKansas.com. Make sure to include the location the picture was taken in your email. Photos will be accepted until Thursday, March 27.  Whether you are traveling out of the country, out of state, out of the county or staying local we want to see your flag pictures! Prizes will be available for: Most Facebook Likes Furthest Location Best Local Photo (judged by City staff) Randomly Drawn Entry We can't wait to see where all the Newton flag gets to go! We will put together a map showing all the places the Trains and Grains travel to. Flags are available to pick up at City Hall, Norm's Coffee Bar, and the Newton Public Library.

Wine Walk Tickets

Do you have your tickets for the Wine Walk yet? Tickets are limited and selling, so make sure to grab yours today! You won't want to miss the Main Street Wine Walk on Thursday, March 20! It will be a great evening exploring the amazing dining and retails stores downtown while getting to sample different wines. You'll even get a Choose Newton wine glass. Don't forget to come and enjoy dinner at one of the 3 restaurants participating before or during the event.  All proceeds from the event will go to support the Choose Newton Downtown Beautification Fund to purchase new Christmas decorations and a sound system downtown.  Get your tickets here! If you aren't able to join us for the Wine Walk, you can still support the Downtown Beautification Fund by donating here.

Connect Downtown

The snow storm in February made us cancel the Connect Downtown event, but we have rescheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at 8am. We will meet at Carriage Factory Art Gallery to go over the Main Street Survey Results and the visit from Main Street America. 

Connect Downtown is a monthly get together for downtown business owners/managers and property owners. It is a great opportunity to get to know each other, know about the businesses that are downtown, learn together, and find ways to collaborate. 

Kansas Official Travel Guide 2026

Travel KS is working on the listings for the 2026 Kansas Travel Guide. If you would like to have your business, restaurant, attraction, hotel, short term rental, or other tourist location listed please make sure to email jlehman@newtonkansas.com. We are working to put all of the Newton listings together to show off our amazing community! All listings for Lodging & Things To Do are due before March 31 if you wish to be included in 2026. This is a great opportunity to highlight your business to potential customers, visitors, and Kansans looking to explore their state.

We will need the following information to complete your listing: Business Name Description (160 character limit) Address Email Website Phone Pricing Standard Listing is $100 Highlighted Listing is $140 If you have any questions about the Kansas Travel Guide listings please reach out to Jen Lehman, Choose Newton Convention & Visitors Bureau Coordinator, at jlehman@newtonkansas.com. This is also a great opportunity to update your listing on the Travel KS website.

Call for Summer Events & Activities

We are working to put together a Passport to Newton for all of the summer fun that is happening in our community! If you have an event, activity, or camp that will be happening in Newton late May to early August we want to know about it so we can include it in the Passport to Newton. 

Please make sure to email all of your events and activities to jlehman@newtonkansas.com by April 1st. The Passport to Newton will be available at the May Third Thursday event downtown. This will be the can't miss guide to Newton's summer fun!
