2019 Annual Public Hearing
Looking to share your feedback with DOR? Join us at our Annual Public Hearing. Come share your ideas on how to improve policies, processes or procedures. Can't make it in person? We'll be broadcast live on Facebook.
The annual hearing is a formal opportunity for your voice to be heard. However, if being in Indianapolis doesn’t work with your schedule, you can write us an email to be read aloud at the hearing. Emails can be sent to media@dor.in.gov with the subject line “Annual Public Hearing”.

New Oversize Overweight Permitting System Coming Fall 2019
Managing heavy and wide-loads on Indiana roadways will become more user-friendly thanks to an upgraded permitting system provided by the Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) Motor Carrier Services Division.
The new Indiana Oversize/Overweight Permitting System promises to be easier to use and more accurate while reducing processing times. Oversize/Overweight (OSW) carriers will be able to enter specific destinations rather than just city names, choose among up to four pre-approved routes (where available) and immediately download permits without waiting up to 24 hours for a manual review.
More details and a user guide will be available before the system goes live.
Funding for the new Indiana Oversize/Overweight Permitting System is provided by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). More information on OSW regulations and the current permitting process is available on the DOR website. Be sure to follow us on social media @INRevenue for updates.

The tax types in Rollout 1, expected to launch in the fall of 2019 include:
- Aircraft Excise
- Corporate Income
- Financial Institutions
- Nonprofit and Partnerships
- Utility Receipts

DOR Continues to Register Remote Sellers
Since the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the South Dakota v. Wayfair hearing was announced in June of 2018, DOR has been working to not only determine who should register but making sure that required registrants know their tax obligations as of October 1, 2018. Thousands of letters have been sent to out-of-state retailers that our data shows may meet one of the following conditions either this year or in the previous calendar year:
- You have gross revenue from sales into Indiana exceeding $100,000; or
- You have 200 or more separate transactions into Indiana.
DOR will continue to contact and assist customers to ensure they are compliant with Indiana tax laws. More information on remote sellers…
