Get Ready, Carmel! School's back in session Aug. 6
Carmel Clay Schools students, faculty, volunteers and bus drivers are back in session on Wednesday, Aug. 6. As the city springs back to the bustle of the academic schedule, it's a great time to remember that our roads and sidewalks will also bustle a bit more.
With thousands of students and faculty returning, especially to Carmel High School (which has more than 5,000 students – that's a small city in itself!), you can expect to see increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout Carmel, particularly during drop-off and pick-up times.
 |
Here are a few friendly reminders to help us all have a smooth and safe return to school:
🚌Slow down: Please be extra mindful of school speed limits and reduce your speed in school zones and residential areas.
🚲Watch for walkers and bikers: Always be on the lookout for students walking or biking to school. Use crosswalks, make eye contact and be prepared to stop.
📵No distractions: Put away your phone and avoid other distractions while driving. Your full attention is needed on the road.
🚶♀️Share the road: Be patient and courteous to other drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. We're all in this together!
⏰Plan ahead: If you're driving, consider leaving a few minutes earlier to account for potential traffic, especially around our school campuses.
