Carmel Marathon returned for 12th annual event
Cold temperatures were no match for the 4,300 participants in the 2022 Carmel Marathon which took place last weekend. "We have received top billing on the national press wires for our event recap and currently rank sixth nationally on the list of top marathons in the U.S. to qualify for the Boston Marathon," said Race Director Todd Oliver. Celebrate Arbor Day with a Big Tree contest!
There is still time to submit your entry for the Big Tree Contest. Entries will be accepted until April 30.
Remember to measure up from the ground 4 feet and 6 inches, or 54 inches, then measure around the tree trunk at that height. Click here for more details.

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation
Did you know that every summer, the Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation team more than doubles in size? It's true! CCPR has 200+ summer positions and one might just be perfect for you. Summer positions begin in mid-May and pay starts at $11 per hour. Opportunities include summer camp counselors, lifeguards, outdoor park workers, member services associates and more.

Carmel Street Department
The Carmel Street Department does so much more than just take care of our roads. If you are looking for an opportunity to learn new skills such as landscaping, hardscape installation, vehicle maintenance, street repair and much more, please contact Crystal Edmondson at cedmondson@carmel.in.gov.
- Part Time and Seasonal Laborers are paid $17 per hour.
- Weekly hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday positions available as well.

Comprehensive Plan heads to City Council for additional review
The Carmel Plan Commission voted unanimously to send the proposed Comprehensive Plan to the City Council, signaling the plan’s next phase of review. The proposed comprehensive plan could appear on the City Council’s meeting agenda as soon as Monday, April 18, with additional opportunity for comments from the public. It is anticipated that the proposed plan will be assigned to a City Council Committee for additional review.

Carmel Utilities continues replacing aging water meters across the community with new, enhanced equipment allowing for more accurate readings and better water efficiency.
In the next few weeks, our Carmel Utilities & Envocore - RTS Water Solutions install teams are scheduled to be in the following neighborhoods:

Republic Services Landscape Waste Pick-up - April & May
It's that time of year again! During the months of April and May, each Carmel Utilities/Republic Services household is allowed 20 extra bags or bundles per week of landscape waste, free of charge. Please place as much yard waste as possible into the trash cart, while allowing the trash cart lid to close. Large branches must be cut into shorter sections (no larger than four feet) and tied into bundles. Click here for more details.

Community Shred-It & Recycling Electronics Day, April 23
The Carmel Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is hosting one of the largest document shredding/recycling/drug take back events in Central Indiana. Come get your personal documents shredded! Recycle your personal devices and computers with Technology Recyclers.
See you on April 23 at Creekside Middle School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Carmel Utilities Drive-up Billing Drop Box Temporarily Out of Service
The Carmel Utilities drive-up billing drop box, located in the south parking lot at Carmel City Hall, One Civic Square, is temporarily out of service. Due to deterioration and long use, the structure has become compromised and is no longer able to securely hold customer payments. Carmel Utilities will post updates and announce the re-opening of the drop box when those details are known.
Did you know there are several ways to make a Carmel Utilities bill payment? Please consider other convenient options:
-Drop payments off at the Carmel Utilities Administrative offices located at 30 W. Main St., Ste 220, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
