Around the city...
A new addition to Carmel’s growing inventory of public art is nearly completed in the Carmel Arts & Design District thanks to a collaboration between current and former local high school students who approached the City and brought in the Indianapolis-based artist Israel Solomon. The large-scale mural, being installed on the north-facing wall of the building at 30 1st Street SW, will feature black heroes and heroines who hail from or have had an impact in the state of Indiana.
WISH-TV Channel 8 reporter Randall Newsome interviewed members of Be the Change Indy and Carmel Redevelopment Director, Henry Mestetsky, in front of the mural this week.
