The Lake County Treasurer’s Office will be accepting prepayments for tax year 2023 (payable in calendar year 2024) through December 21st. This is a great option for people who want to reduce their first installment amount, or for those who want to take advantage of a tax payment during calendar year 2023.
The Treasurer’s Office is not required to take prepayments, we offer this program as a courtesy to our residents. Prepayment amounts are limited to a maximum of 50% of the amount from the previous year's tax bill.
Prepayment can only be made by check. Write "prepayment" in the memo field and include your PIN (Parcel ID number). Prepayment MUST BE RECEIVED IN OFFICE by December 21st (not postmark).
