With the General Election quickly approaching, make sure you know where to vote and what is on your ballot. On Election Day, you can only vote at your neighborhood voting site.

Voter Registration Deadlines Fast Approaching

Not registered to vote yet? Recently moved to Lake County? Changed address? Changed your name? Turning 18 on or before November 8, 2022? If you answered YES to any of these and want to vote in the November 8 General Election, you may need to register to vote or update an existing registration.

October 11 is the last day to register in-person with a Deputy Registrar or have a mail-in voter registration application postmarked.

October 23 is the last day to register on-line through the Illinois State Board of Elections website or at the State Driver's License Service Facilities when there for other services.

Grace Period Registration and Voting begins on October 12 and is available at Early Voting and Election Day Voting Sites.

Vote-by-Mail: Application Deadline is November 3

3 Ways to Return you ballot

Want to Vote-by-Mail in the November General Election? Applications must be received by the Lake County Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on November 3. Applications can be downloaded from our website and submitted electronically, mailed or hand-delivered to our office.

Your mailed ballot must be postmarked by November 8, 2022 or deposited into one of the Lake County Drop Boxes or hand-delivered to our office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. For your convenience, Lake County has drop boxes at our 18 Early Voting Sites as well as six 24-hour drop boxes. For their locations and time, please see here

Ballottrax: Tracking Your Vote-by-Mail

Ballottrax allows voters to track their ballot from their home through the U.S. Postal Service and receipt in the Lake County Clerk's Office. Voters can opt to receive text, email or voice updates.

Early Voting Will Expand to 18 Sites on October 24

Early Voting Sites

Early Voting began at the Lake County Courthouse on Thursday, September 29. Early Voting will expand to a total of 18 sites across the county on October 24 and continue until Monday, November 7. 

All Lake County Voters may vote at any of the Early Voting locations.  On Election Day, you must vote at your neighborhood voting site.
