Vernon Hills, IL - The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) was informed that the closure of the CN's Elgin, Joliet & Eastern railroad crossing on Butterfield Road, north of IL Route 60 has been delayed. The closure had been scheduled from May 23 - 27. LCDOT will provide an update when the new date for scheduled repairs is announced.

Vernon Hills, IL - The Canadian National (CN) Railroad has informed the Lake County Division of Transportation that it will close the CN’s Elgin, Joliet & Eastern railroad crossing on Butterfield Road, north of IL Route 60 for repairs. The closure of the railroad crossing will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 23 and end in the late afternoon on Friday, May 27.
Detour Route: IL Route 60, to US Route 45, to IL Route 176. Local traffic will be allowed from IL Route 60, to the railroad crossing and from IL Route 176, to the railroad crossing. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.
