Sidewalk, ADA Ramp Improvements Coming to School Areas Starting June 30
Beginning the week of June 30 and continuing for approximately eight weeks, deteriorated sidewalk slabs will be replaced and some ADA ramps reconstructed on blocks adjacent to the following schools:
- Oakton
- Chute
- Dawes
- Lincoln, Park
- Washington
- Martin Luther King
- Dewey
- Kingsley
- Lincolnwood
- Orrington
- Willard
Sidewalks and crosswalks in some areas may be temporarily closed during construction. Where parking restrictions are necessary, "No Parking" signs will be posted at least 48 hours in advance.
Property owners with irrigation systems in the parkway should mark sprinkler heads with flags prior to the start of construction to help prevent damage.
This project is funded through the federal Safe Routes to School grant program and is being completed under contract with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

Contractor
The contractor for this improvement project Triggi Construction, Inc., located at 1975 Powis Road, West Chicago, IL. The contractor is contractually responsible for the means and methods of the work.

The City has retained Terra Engineering, LTD consulting engineering firm to monitor the project.
