Asphalt Pavement Sealing and Rejuvenation Begins This Week
The City will begin sealing and rejuvenating asphalt pavement at approximately 13 locations this week. The eight to ten-day project will treat about 24,000 square yards of pavement to extend its lifespan and protect against water damage.
Crews will apply a clear liquid sealant to rejuvenate and protect the asphalt, followed by a layer of limestone screenings for traction. After absorption, the screenings will be swept away and "No Parking" signs removed within 24-48 hours. Temporary lane shifts and brief closures are expected, with streets reopening about an hour after work is complete. Each application will take 2-4 hours, and parking restrictions will be posted 48 hours in advance and limited to active work areas.
