Asphalt Pavement Sealing and Rejuvenation

The City will begin sealing and rejuvenating asphalt pavement at approximately 13 locations the week of May 12, weather permitting. The eight to ten-day project will treat about 24,000 square yards of pavement to extend its lifespan and protect against water damage.

Crews will apply a clear liquid sealant to rejuvenate and protect the asphalt, followed by a layer of limestone screenings for traction. After absorption, the screenings will be swept away and "No Parking" signs removed within 24-48 hours. Temporary lane shifts and brief closures are expected, with streets reopening about an hour after work is complete. Each application will take 2-4 hours, and parking restrictions will be posted 48 hours in advance and limited to active work areas.

The contractor for this project is Corrective Asphalt Materials, 300 Daniel Boone Trail, Roxana, IL.
