Good afternoon,
Join me on Monday, April 21 at the Prieto Community Center, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a 9th Ward meeting. We will be hearing about enrichment and academic opportunities offered by MetroSquash; a non-profit afterschool program in Evanston. Parks and Recreation staff will share information about summer programming, and the Evanston Police Department will share a ward safety report.
Additionally, there will also be a hybrid option available for folks to tune in remotely. I know that the last meeting's technical issues made the last meeting especially difficult for people trying to tune in remotely. We think we have solved the technical issues and will have more support on Monday.

Free Documentary Screening: April 22
“The Jungle,” a modern-day take on Upton Sinclair a 1906 novel, is a film revealing centuries of greed and exploitation in America's meat industry.
Wild Onion Market, a Rogers Park’s grocery co-op, is hosting a free screening of the new film at Living Water Community Church, located on Pratt and Ashland Avenues, at 7 p.m. on Earth Day, April 22.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Matt Wechsler and Reginaldo Haslett- Marroquin whose farm operation is featured in the film.
Wild Onion Market, located at 7007 N. Clark, is locally owned and passionate about keeping dollars local, employing folks who live locally, and selling honest food coming through a transparent supply chain. “We strongly believe this film will be a game changer in helping people understand how we collectively approach farming and food production and the impact it has on the planet,” says the store’s Community Engagement Committee.
Those interested in attending the screening should RSVP at the Events page of the Wild Onion Market website.
