Evanston Man Charged with the Robberies of Two Postal Carriers
EVANSTON, IL - On September 26, 2022, at approximately 4:05 p.m. Evanston Police officers responded to the 1600 block of Monroe Street for a call of a robbery. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim, a United States Postal Service Carrier, who stated he was robbed by two offenders.
On September 27, 2022, at approximately 11:55 a.m. Evanston Police Officers responded to the 2400 block of Nathaniel Avenue. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim, another United States Postal Service Carrier, who stated he was robbed by a single offender.
The US Postal Inspection Service partnered with Evanston Police Investigative Services. This cooperative investigation led to identifying a suspect vehicle.
On September 28, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m. investigators located and stopped the suspect vehicle in the 900 block of Ridge Avenue. Investigators made contact with driver, Everett Pullett. Pullett matched the description of the robbery offender and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Pullett was taken into custody and investigators continued their investigation. The investigation included the execution of a search warrant at Pullett's residence. During the execution of the search warrant investigators recovered a Glock 36 handgun, proceeds from the robberies, and clothing worn during the robberies.
The investigation was reviewed by the Cook County State's Attorneys Office. The State's Attorneys Office approved felony charges for two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon by Felon. Pullett was also charged with traffic related offenses.

Postal inspectors enforce more than 200 federal laws and investigate crimes that adversely affect the U.S. Mail and the postal system. Armed robbery of a postal employee is a violation of Title 18, U.S. Code Section 2114, and is punishable by up to 25 years in prison. An arrest was made due to the great collaboration with our agencies. Additional federal charges are still being considered and are pending connected to the offenses Pullett committed against two USPS employees this week.
