Evanston Police Investigate a Shooting and Stabbing Incident
EVANSTON, IL - On September 26, 2021, at 3:31 p.m. Evanston Police responded to the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue for a 911 call of a person shot and another person that was stabbed. Upon arrival officers located a subject that had suffered a gun shot wound and a separate subject that had suffered stab wounds. The investigation indicates that the shooting and stabbing are related incidents. Both subjects were transported to an area hospital by the Evanston Fire Department. The gunshot victim, a 45 year old male resident of Naperville, has succumbed to his injuries and died. The stabbing victim, a 27 year old male resident of Chicago, is presently in stable condition.
The Evanston Police Detective Bureau and North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating. This does not appear to be a random act. No suspects are presently in custody.
