Evanston Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Assault

EVANSTON, IL - On August 11, 2019, Evanston Police charged an Evanston man with Criminal Sexual Assault. The charges stemmed from an incident that took place on July 30. In that incident the offender, Jason Taylor, assaulted a female Chicago resident in her twenties. During this incident the offender made contact with the victim through a dating app and then posed as a ride share service. After the victim got in Taylor's car, Taylor committed the sexual assault.

The investigation revealed that Taylor attempted to make contact with University students in the area. Despite Taylor's multiple attempts these students declined to meet him.

Even though Taylor has been charged, this incident is part of an active investigation and further comment will be limited.
