McCall, ID — The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL), in partnership with Idaho’s Constitutional Officers, will host Liberty Grove, a signature event celebrating Idaho’s lands, legacy, and future, on Tuesday, May 12 at Payette Lake in McCall.
Part of Idaho’s commemoration of America250, Liberty Grove will bring together community members, state leaders, and industry partners for a hands-on and educational experience focused on the importance of responsible land stewardship. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. (MT), followed by a hosted lunch at 12:00 p.m. (MT).
Liberty Grove will feature ceremonial tree planting and speaking engagements designed to highlight the critical role Idaho’s endowment lands play in supporting public schools and other beneficiaries while maintaining healthy, sustainable forests.
“Liberty Grove reflects Idaho’s deep connection to the land and our responsibility to manage it wisely for future generations,” said Dustin Miller, Director of the Idaho Department of Lands. “This event is an opportunity to celebrate our shared heritage while helping Idahoans better understand how endowment lands contribute to our state’s prosperity.”
The program will include remarks from Idaho's Constitutional Officers.
Liberty Grove is designed to generate broad community engagement and showcase Idaho’s leadership in land management. Through hands-on participation and educational programming, the event aims to inspire pride in Idaho’s working lands, deepen public understanding of how these resources benefit communities statewide, and celebrate America250 in Idaho.
