Thank you for signing up for the Weld County Road (WCR) 66 newsletter. We're glad you're here and excited to keep you in the know during this important project, which begins this fall.
This newsletter will serve as your go-to source for project information, progress, and photographs. Expect monthly updates from now until the project starts, then more frequent updates when work is ongoing.
The improvements, taking place on a four-mile section of WCR 66 between U.S. 85 and WCR 47, are expected to be complete by Dec. 31, 2026.

WCR 66 has been a key corridor over the years, used heavily by those in the agriculture industry to transport crops and products. With increased traffic demand expected, as well as plans for WCR 66 to serve as the primary access to the Greeley-Weld County Airport in the future, the Weld County Department of Public Works saw a need for improvements.
Specifically, the project will focus on a four-mile section of WCR 66 between U.S. 85 and WCR 47. Work will focus on widening the road to a four-lane concrete roadway. Improvements will also accommodate 10-foot shoulders.
Weld County initially planned to improve WCR 66 between U.S. 85 and WCR 47 in phases, but the county has the money now to build the full-width improvements to address safety and regional growth.
