Consider becoming a therapeutic foster home
We are committed to working toward a future where every Weld County youth and child, regardless of the complexity of their needs, can be cared for within their own community in a trauma-informed family setting. You might be in the position to help make that happen!
Anyone can become a therapeutic foster parent with the necessary experience and training. Therapeutic foster care certification requires an additional twelve hours of specialized training and bi-weekly visits from their support team. Contact Kelly Krause at krausekc@weld.gov for more information.

Build emotional intelligence at Home with a 30-Day Unkindness Cleanse
The 30-Day Unkindness Cleanse is an actionable approach to fostering kindness in a family. Over the course of 30 days (start whenever you can), begin to incorporate simple acts of kindness. This is beneficial to shift the overall atmosphere at home and to promote positive behaviors for children.
Here are some quick tips to get started: 1) Model kindness and calmness in your words and actions. 2) Encourage communication and open dialogue. 3) Use positive reinforcement to motivate good behaviors.

Thank you, ReBalance
A big thank you to ReBalance for another fun-packed event last February for Weld County’s foster, kinship, and adoptive youth — and an opportunity for parents to have a night out!
We'd love to share some testimonials from people in the community.
"This group gave my son a real sense of perspective. He saw others who have traveled further down negative paths and the consequences of them. He had things explained to him in a different way than before and the group of adults seem to have reached him in different ways that were more understandable to him." - Parent of a ReBalance student
"Our students have a lot of trauma — and our working with ReBalance is such a logical partnership to help them heal. They're getting this extracurricular experience, but they're also getting this really deep, therapeutic experience — whether they realize it or not. That's why we partner with Rebalance." - Licensed school counselor and ReBalance partner
