Construction to begin soon - sign up for updates now!
In partnership with the City of Greeley, Weld County is gearing up to officially start work on the county's newest road project - a roundabout at the intersection of 35th Ave. and O St. Weld County Public Works has contracted with IHC Scott to build this roundabout, which is scheduled to be completed by September.
To keep residents and commuters up to date on the project and informed of road closures and detours associated with it, we are encouraging everyone to sign up for email alerts. Just visit our newsletter subscriber page, enter your email address and choose "35th and O Roundabout Project" (along with any of our other county publications), and you will receive information directly to your email.
To learn more about why Weld County's Department of Public Works is utilizing roundabouts more frequently for traffic control, please read our February 7, 2022, issue of County Roots.
As part of the 35th Ave. and O St. project, commuters will notice the intersection itself is going to shift farther north of O St. than its current position. This is to ensure plenty of room to build a roundabout that can accommodate both passenger vehicles as well as tractor trailers and agricultural equipment. In fact, this roundabout will closely resemble the county's first roundabout at WCR 17 and WCR 54 near Johnstown.
