Important Updates for the Colorado Assessors' Community
2025 Abstract of Assessment Report
This is a reminder to assessors that the annual Abstract of Assessment Report (abstract) to the Division of Property Taxation (Division) is due August 25, 2025, with a lock out date of August 31. The program is available on our website under County Portal Login. Questions regarding the abstract can be directed to dola_dpt_abstract@state.co.us
For those counties that elected to use the alternate protest and appeals procedure, please notify Thomas Young at thomas.young@state.co.us.
2025 Personal Property Exemption Growth Factor
In accordance with § 39-3-119.5(3)(b), C.R.S., the “growth factor” used to adjust the personal property exemption reimbursements is 0.08% for tax year 2025. This growth factor should be applied to the baseline exemption total (from 2021) as required by statute. It should not be applied to the adjusted exemption amounts from last year.

2026 Declaration Schedule Review Meeting
The Division has scheduled the 2026 Declaration Schedule review and update meeting for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The meeting will be held remotely via Zoom. The Division will be presenting proposed updates to all declaration schedules. Recommended changes can be submitted any time before the meeting. We will also consider recommended changes proposed after the meeting until Friday, August 29.

Division of Property Taxation Education Opportunities
The Division of Property Taxation's education program is designed for county assessors and employees.
Courses and workshops are designed to review and explain current Colorado property tax law, and present generally accepted appraisal and management techniques useful to the assessor and assessor staff.
