Dillon to Host Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony Honoring Fallen Heroes
Dillon, Colo., May 20, 2025 - The Dillon Cemetery, a hallowed ground preserving the legacy of America’s heroes, will once again host a heartfelt Memorial Day Ceremony to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. The event, organized by the Town of Dillon, will take place on Monday, May 26, 2025, amid the serene and scenic setting of the cemetery grounds.
The Memorial Day Ceremony has become a cherished tradition in the local community, serving as a poignant reminder of the selfless sacrifices made by those who fought to protect the freedoms we hold dear. The event will gather families, friends, and community members who wish to honor and remember our fallen heroes.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and will include participation from Elks Lodge #2561, the Summit County Rotary Club, Summit County Boy Scout Troop #188 and Cub Scout Troop #186. Following a presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, and table honors, there will be a reading of the names of the interred service members at the Dillon Cemetery.
Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, the Rocky Mountain Brass Quintet of the Summit Concert Band will perform "Taps," a traditional bugle call associated with military funerals and an “Armed Forces Medley.” The reverential notes will echo across the cemetery, honoring our fallen heroes.
The Memorial Day Ceremony at Dillon Cemetery is open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend and participate in this commemoration. Attendees are encouraged to bring old flags to have them properly retired.
The Town of Dillon extends its deepest gratitude to Summit County veterans for their service and invites everyone to join us in honoring and remembering our fallen heroes at Dillon Cemetery this Memorial Day.
