Boulder County planning to install real-time bus schedule displays at
area stops
Take a survey by Jan.
27 and you may win a $25 gift card
Boulder County, Colo. - Thanks to grant funds, Boulder County will be
installing several Public Information Displays (PIDs) throughout the county in
2017. PIDs show real-time bus arrival information and other bus-related news at
major RTD stations and Park-n-Ride locations.
Boulder County Transportation is seeking public
input regarding the best possible locations for the signs and about the impact
the signs may have on the community’s willingness to ride the bus. Survey
respondents who complete the survey by Friday, Jan. 27 will be entered to win a
$25 gift card for helping with this project.
“This project will help to improve the customer experience
by giving real-time information so riders know when the bus will arrive,” said
Jared Hall, Boulder County transit planner. “We are hoping that PIDs at major
stops, being used with other tools like real-time transit apps, will create a
network of options that make riding the bus more convenient.”
The project will be paid for with $300,000 in
funding from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), with an
additional $62,362 match coming from the Boulder County voter-approved
Transportation Sales Tax.
