Attempted homicide suspect taken into custody
Boulder County, Colo. - At approximately 8:10 pm detectives with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the US Marshalls Service and Broomfield Police Dept. took Jeffrey Collins, the previously identified attempted homicide suspect, into custody without incident. Following leads throughout the day investigators eventually located Collins in Broomfield. Collins was booked into the juvenile detention center on the warrant for attempted 1st degree murder and 1st degree assault of an at risk adult. Bond for the warrant was set at $1,000,000.
Detectives continue the investigation into the assault and are specifically looking for the driver of the white hatch back that picked up Collins in the 13000 block of Lefthand Canyon and gave him a ride to Ward. Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact Det. Shatek at 303-441-3633.
