Arroyo Valley High School in San Bernardino will become a second dose vaccination site that will administer Pfizer vaccinations on Thursday, January 28 and Friday, January 29, 2021. The County is working to open additional second dose vaccination sites countywide as the 21- and 28-day windows approaches for more people to receive their second dose.

Approximately 600 people who have already received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine were contacted by the County via email starting on Monday, January 25, 2021. They were notified that they could register for an appointment to get their second dose on either Thursday, January 28 or Friday, January 29. Individuals were informed that they must bring their COVID-19 vaccination record card in order to be seen.

As of Wednesday, January 27, the County has followed up through phone calls to remind the 600 individuals about the availability and importance of getting their second dose within the timeframes contained in Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance.

Individuals who were contacted to register for their second dose at Arroyo Valley High School would have received an email notification from the County on Monday, January 25. Please be sure to check your email, SPAM folder and trash folder for this communication.

I am eligible to receive a vaccination now based on the County’s guidelines (Phase 1A all tiers, Phase 1B Tier 1 police or fire, and 65+). Can I schedule an appointment at this location to get my first dose?

Arroyo Valley High School is currently a second dose-only vaccination site. Only people receiving their second dose will be served. Individuals must have an appointment and present their COVID-19 vaccination card.

Is this the only site offering second dose vaccinations? I don’t live close to the City of San Bernardino and it is not easy for me to get there.

Arroyo Valley High School is the first second dose-only vaccination site announced by the County so far. The County is working to open other second dose-only sites countywide, including the High Desert, Morongo Basin, mountain communities and in the western part of the County. New sites and the availability to register for second dose vaccinations will be communicated as they are opened via email, phone calls, social media and other communications means.

In addition to County-operated sites, second dose vaccinations are/will be administered through local hospitals, pharmacies and physician practice partners. Please contact the location where you received your first vaccine dose for information on second dose vaccine appointments.

Why isn’t there an automatic appointment set up for a second dose vaccination at the time when the first dose vaccination is scheduled?

The County is in the process of implementing a new appointment registration process in which anyone who registers for an appointment at a San Bernardino County Public Health site for their first dose will automatically be scheduled for their second.

Will the second dose-only site have both Pfizer and Moderna?

Only Pfizer second doses will be available on January 28 and 29 at Arroyo Valley High School. The County will provide information to the public on locations and dates for Moderna second dose vaccinations as they are confirmed.

Will you take walk-ins?
