Create your own fun comic story and share it with us! The Salinas Public Library invites students in grades K–12 to enter their original comic books for a chance to win awesome prizes and art supplies.
June 30, 2025, is the LAST DAY to submit your comic!
Summer is here and the Salinas Public Library will have free activities throughout the summer for all ages! A variety of drop-in and registration-based programs will be offered to encourage imagination and exploration.
Of course, our Summer Reading Challenge returns with the opportunity to earn free books! Keep track of your reading via ReadSquared. Paper reading logs are available at any Salinas Public Library. Remember to visit the library to pick up your prize once you complete your reading log!

Prepare your soon-to-be kindergartener to confidently step into the first day of school with the help of the Salinas Public Library's Kinder Boot Camp! The program is open to all incoming, first-year kindergarten students and incoming transitional kindergarten (TK) students, especially those with limited preschool exposure. These camps are designed to make a smoother transition to school life by introducing them to classroom routines while promoting social interaction, language, and self-regulation skills.
