I invite you to join me on Tuesday, June 17 for our Evacuation and Emergency Preparedness Town Hall and Open House at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. This is our third annual town hall focused on fire preparation and evacuation planning, and I strongly encourage all members of the Eastern Placer community to attend either in person or virtually. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and will be live-streamed on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.
I’ll be joined by representatives from CAL FIRE, Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Local Fire Districts, Utility Districts,Placer County Office of Emergency Services, U.S. Forest Service, and others. Together, we’ll provide updates on the Lake Tahoe Regional Evacuation Plan, new emergency protocols, the roles of each agency during emergencies, and how residents can take meaningful steps to prepare.
Following the presentation, in-person attendees will have the opportunity to visit information booths hosted by participating organizations, including CAL FIRE, the Sheriff’s Office, local fire districts, the Office of Emergency Services, Liberty Utilities, Tahoe Truckee Contractors Association and home hardening contractors, Tahoe Resource Conservation District, California Highway Patrol, Placer County Air Pollution Control District, U.S. Forest Service, and Placer County Department of Public Works.
