Transportation
Caltrans has begun work on Interstate 80 emergency pavement repairs in the Sierra, with work as far west as Colfax set to begin Sept. 11. Once all repairs are underway motorists may experience a maximum delay of up to two hours. Learn more

Placer County Public Health is encouraging residents to take advantage of new and updated vaccine and antibody options for COVID-19, flu and RSV through their regular health provider in order to stay healthier this fall season. Learn more

Roads
The Placer County roads division is analyzing damage and repair options for a sinkhole over Doty Ravine on Garden Bar Road in rural Lincoln. Motorists in the area will be met with detour signs for the foreseeable future. Watch video
Shelter pets
Do you love dogs, but can’t have your own? Take a shelter dog on a field trip! Placer County Animal Services is excited to introduce the new "Doggy Day Out" program. Day-long adventures can include a wide range of activities. Learn more
