Mountain View, CA – On Wednesday, April 9, at approximately 5:28 a.m., Mountain View Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of El Camino Real and Escuela Avenue.
Upon arrival, responding officers and City of Mountain View Fire Department personnel arrived and provided medical treatment to the pedestrian. The male pedestrian, a 73-year-old Mountain View resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with our investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.
MVPD’s Traffic team remains on scene processing the collision site. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
