Citizens Redistricting Commission

Regular Meeting, April 28, 2021, 7 p.m.

Dr. Raphael J. Sonenshein, Executive Director of the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs at California State Los Angeles, will be presenting on redistricting at this meeting. In addition, an overview of the LA County mapping software will be presented by Steven J. Steinberg, Ph.D, MPA, GISP, ESRI representatives, and David Ely.

County of Los Angeles Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC)
In 2016, the California Legislature passed Senate Bill 958, requiring Los Angeles County to assemble the CRC following the Federal census. The role of the CRC is to draw the boundary lines of the five single-member, supervisorial districts of the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors by December 15, 2021. The CRC is to be independent from the influence of the Board of Supervisors.

Commissioners include Jean Franklin, David Holtzman, Daniel Mayeda (Co-Chair), Mark Mendoza, Apolonio Morales, Nelson Obregon, Priscilla Orpinela-Segura, Hailes Soto, Saira Soto, Priya Sridharan, Brian Stecher, John Vento, Carolyn Williams (Co-Chair), and Doreena Wong
