Fremont's industrial sector is set to expand with the recent approval of a new project. Located in South Fremont at Fremont Boulevard and Ice House Terrace, the Palisade project involves redeveloping a 4.2-acre vacant site with a new 70,000 sq. ft. industrial building. To facilitate the project, Fremont Council approved the site's rezoning from regional commercial to tech industrial, which facilitates a significant investment in an underutilized site, creates job growth in Fremont’s thriving industrial sector, and generates revenue sources for the City. Additionally, the developer has pledged a $100k community benefit to be used for a community initiative or program.
