New Affordable Housing Development in Fremont Now Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the lottery waitlist for Bell Street Gardens, a new affordable housing development located at 38889 Bell Street in Fremont. This new development is for income-eligible individuals and families and will be managed by Resources for Community Development (RCD).

At this time, applications are being accepted for 78 of the 126 rental units at Bell Street Gardens. Applications can be submitted online via the Bell Street Gardens webpage. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 9, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. Applications can be submitted any time before the deadline; it is not first come, first served.

Bell Street Gardens includes 126 brand new affordable rental units to be leased to low-income individuals and families. Studios and 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom units are available. The property includes two community rooms, a fitness room, on-site property management, and supportive services. The units are anticipated to be move-in ready by this winter.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION

The 78 units currently available at Bell Street Gardens are to be leased to low-income households.

Preference will be given to those currently residing or working in Fremont and then those residing or working in Alameda County. All eligible households are encouraged to apply.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS

The deadline to apply for the 78 available units at Bell Street Gardens is Monday, September 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. No exceptions will be made for late submissions. Applications can be submitted any time before the deadline; it is not first come, first served.

Applications can be submitted online via the Bell Street Gardens webpage. Applications can also be submitted by mail. Visit the webpage for more information. All applications must be submitted by Monday, September 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

SELECTION PROCESS

Submitted applications will be placed into a lottery. A waiting list will be established based on the results of the lottery, application of the City and County preferences, and the resulting ranking order of the applications. Applicants will be invited for an interview in the order of the waiting list. Interviews will continue until the maximum number of applicants to fill the units has been reached.
