Real Journeys Academies Charter School

Ground Breaking

On January 11, 2022 at 2pm, REAL Journey Academies Charter School will break ground on its Entrepreneur High School - Fontana location.

REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a network of free K-12 charter schools in the Inland Empire, that offers a unique approach to education.

"In 2018, RJA made the decision to challenge the status quo. After considerable research, a new school concept was designed to uniquely focus on both the skills employers want, along with the knowledge necessary for success," said Alex Lucero, RJA Chief Executive Officer. "Recognizing these skills are most often associated with entrepreneurs, RJA launched Entrepreneur High School - a high school that prepares students to graduate fully prepared to be successful in college, or uniquely equipped with the skills to start a career right out of high school."

Entrepreneur High (eHigh) students are given the opportunity to choose career training in a number of high-demand industries while following a college-prep curriculum. Students research the academic and professional areas that best suit their personalities and interests while determining how to apply those skills to meet the market trends and demands. eHigh's standards-based curriculum prepares students to earn a high school diploma while pursuing a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway of their choice.

"Education and workforce development remains a top priority for the City of Fontana.  No longer is the business mantra - location, location, location. It's now workforce, workforce, location. We must anticipate and adjust to the needs of business if we are to be successful in the long-term,"  said Mayor Acquanetta Warren. "We are elated that REAL Journey Academies has chosen Fontana as it's next location."
