Suspect Arrested for Attempted Sexual Assault and Elder Abuse

Hines

On November 8, 2020 the Fontana Police Department dispatch received a call from an 80 year old female.  She called to report that she awoke with an unknown male suspect on top of her.  He was identified as Albert Hines, 36 years old, from Fontana.  Hines entered the female victim’s house through an unlocked sliding door in the early morning hours of November 8th in the 11700 block of Burl Dr in Fontana.  When the victim was awoken by Hines, she yelled and was able to fight off Hines until he ran from the scene.  Video surveillance caught Hines running away from the location.  Fontana Detectives were called to the scene for further investigation and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department bloodhound also assisted.  Hines was located, identified as the suspect in the crime and booked in at West Valley Detention Center.  He was booked on charges of elder abuse, attempt sexual assault and burglary.

Through the investigation it is believed that Hines was following and watching the victim before entering the house and assaulting her on November 8th.  If you have any information reference this investigation or believe you may have been a victim, please contact Detective A. Davis at 909-854-8152 or email at adavis@fontana.org.
