Representatives from Amtrak, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority, and Caltrans created California’s Golden State Advocate of Rail (STAR) award to honor passenger rail advocates from California and help build awareness about rail travel throughout the state. Former honorees include Doras Briggs (2008), Art Lloyd (2009), Art Brown (2010) and CCJPA Board member James Spering (2011).
We invite you to submit a nominee for this prestigious honor. Please feel free to forward the nominating form to others who might be interested.
The deadline for submission has been extended through September 30, 2012.
Check out the newly renovated Memorial Stadium - and bring a friend for free when you take the Capitol Corridor train to home football games this fall. Taking the Capitol Corridor to Berkeley is a convenient way to skip game day traffic and travel in comfort. So put on your blue and gold and get one free fare on the Capitol Corridor with the purchase of one regular adult fare during home football games.
Work on the second phase of the intermodal project will continue between September 22and October 8, 2012 in an area on the west side of the Richmond/Amtrak station near the new parking structure. This work will result in limited access to the station. All AC Transit buses, Golden Gate Transit buses, passenger drop off and pick up, work shuttles and taxis will be restricted to use either MacDonald Street or Marina Way for loading and unloading. Please check with your transit provider for specific bus or shuttle boarding locations. Accessible parking and accessible routes will be open via designated paths to the station concourse.
