Belmont readies for National Night Out
Ten neighborhoods will celebrate on Tuesday, Aug. 1

Belmont, California joins the nationwide block party on Tuesday, Aug. 1 with its National Night Out event, this year planned for 10 locations around the city.
The events are part of the initiative that started in the 1970s as an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

This year, Belmont will host its main event at the Belmont Library, while neighborhood leaders throughout the Peninsula city host in local parks or block parties.
All are invited to each event and organizers encourage neighbors to participate in the National Night Out event closest to them.
In Belmont, agency partners like San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department, Mid-Peninsula Water District, Recology, and RethinkWaste will join Belmont Police Department, Belmont Public Works, city staff, and Belmont City Council at the Belmont Library. Each neighborhood event can expect a visit from most agency partners.
