CJ Knight a supervisor at our Leeds Water Reclamation Facility had a little excitement during a high-water rain event last year. He was checking on a part of the facility when he noticed what he thought was a baby alligator. Turns out it was a rare Tiger salamander. He called some local environmental organizations that got him in touch with a professor at Auburn University who now has appropriate custody of Norman. Norman now lives with that professor in Andelusia, AL, which is more his natural habitat.
Jobs at our Environmental Services Water Reclamation facilities might be considered "dirty jobs" but they are actually very focused on the local environment. If you know someone that is interested in this kind of career track, please check out our jobs listed at https://jeffersoncounty.jobsquest.org/
