Jefferson County offices will be closed on January 10, 2025 due to inclement weather. The weather forecasters have been watching this closely and it appears that the line between snow, sleet, and icy roads runs right through the middle of Jefferson County. Rest assured our road crews have sand trucks loaded and personnel on call to try and help with road conditions. There is also the potential for any rain on the roads on Friday night to refreeze until Saturday morning. Be safe, and please don't venture out on icy/snowy roads if you don't have to.
The Jefferson County Commission recognized the Parker High School Thundering Herd in its first meeting of 2025. The team clinched the win by beating Saraland with a score in the fourth quarter. This is the first 6A State Football Championship for the school!
