- Classic Car Motoring in Irondale
- City of Bessemer Public Works Laydown Yard

While not as prevalent, COVID is still with us and some citizens are still dealing with the affects from the virus, especially those experiencing long-term illness. The federal government has provided the county with funds for rent and utility assistance to help those in need. Anyone interested can apply on our web portal by clicking here.
Program requirements include:
- Must be a resident of Jefferson County,
- Have a household income at or below 80% of the median income,
- And, be experiencing housing instability and document financial hardship.
Jefferson County Commissioner Lashunda Scales invited the Huffman High School 6A Girls Basketball team (runner-up in the state championship), Midfield High School 3A Boys Basketball team (runner-up in state championship) and the Fairfield High School 5A Boys Basketball team (state championship winners) to the Commission meeting and praised their performance both on and off the court. These youth have to maintain a high GPA in order to be able to compete. It was great to meet them and celebrate their success!
