Senator Murkowski provides an opportunity each year for graduating high school seniors to be summer interns in her office. The interns have the opportunity to learn about the U.S. Senate, work in a professional office, shadow the Senator, attend meetings and committee hearings, perform special projects, have fun, and explore Washington, D.C. Qualifications: Senator Murkowski is looking for independent, inquisitive, and mature young Alaskans. There is no GPA threshold requirement to apply. Applicants need not be interested in political science.

Deadline to Apply: 11:59 p.m. Alaska Standard Time on March 18, 2024. However, the Senate’s mail screening procedures are likely to delay delivery, and no applications that arrive after the deadline will be considered.
Internship Session Dates:

- Session Two: July 7th to August 3rd, 2024

Housing, Transportation, Stipend: Housing and transportation will be coordinated by the Senator's office, but interns will be responsible for the cost. Interns will be paid a small stipend that is intended to help defray costs associated with the internship program. Housing is located at the Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH) dormitories on Capitol Hill.

Communication whether in person or via any communications device is expected to be professional, responsible, reasonable, and appropriate.
It’s important to consider how one might have to defend one’s communication as educationally sound, or for student or staff health or safety.

The National Park Service is once again generously sponsoring the One Ocean Art Show as part of Tsunami Bowl. Student artwork will be on display at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward from March 18th - March 24th.
Please complete this form if your school plans to submit student artwork for display. Students may enter up to 3 pieces of original art. There is no limit to the number of pieces from each school.
Artwork must be original and created solely by the participating student during the 2023-24 school year. No published, traced, or copied materials will be allowed.
Submissions must include (with the piece) the student's name, grade, title of the piece, school, and category.
Art will be judged according to the following categories: painting, drawing, printmaking/mixed media, photography, and 3-D (functional or sculptural).
Mail artwork to: Tsunami Bowl, PO Box 730, Seward, AK 99664 via USPS or 201 Railway Avenue, Seward, AK 99664 if using any other carrier.
Submissions must be in Seward by March 15, 2024.

 The GPA program provides grants to institutions and private, nonprofit education entities that organize programs for K-12 teachers, college students, and faculty to engage in short- or long-term overseas projects focused on training, research, and curriculum development in modern foreign languages and area studies. GPA short-term projects include seminars, curriculum development, and group research or study. GPA long-term projects support advanced intensive overseas programs that focus on languages, the humanities, or social sciences.
IFLE expects to make 30 new awards totaling approximately $5.1 million under the FY 2024 GPA competition. The application is now available at www.grants.gov. The deadline to submit an application is March 18, 2024.
