Restaurant Night at Chipotle

Have you ever
wondered if Ms. Heslep puts extra guacamole on her burritos or if Mrs. Panczyszyn’s
pregnancy causes her to have unusual food cravings? Please join us tonight,
Tuesday, October 2nd, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Chipotle, 13042 Fair
Lakes Shopping Center to answer these questions and more. There will be several
Willow Springs’ teachers and administrators there, supporting the PTA, while
enjoying some of the best burrito bowls in Fairfax County. Hope to see you

National Walk to School Day
Join families across the country as Willow Springs
celebrates Walk to School Day on Wednesday,
October 10th!
|
Walk with your students to school and visit the welcome table behind the bus loop near the walking paths. Families and staff will gather at 8:45am to enjoy snacks and games. Or walk your kids to the bus stop and visit with your neighbors! Walking to school or the bus stop helps support healthy habits, build our community, promote safety and create a cleaner environment. Field Day Volunteers Needed
Want to spend a couple of hours laughing and hanging out in the great
outdoors with some of the most wonderful students you will find anywhere?
Please consider joining Mr. Silvis, Mr. Burda and all of the students at Willow
Springs for our annual Field Day, Friday, October 12th (Rain Date,
Friday, October 26th). There will be relay races, throwing games, cooperative activities, and so much more. Kindergarten through 3rd
Grade will be participating from 9:30-11:20 a.m. and 4th-6th Grades will be participating from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Please visit the Willow Springs website for more information or click here to volunteer.

Giant Food! This year’s A+ Program runs
from September 7, 2018 through March 16, 2019. Our school ID is 01857. You DO NOT need to re-register your card if your card was
registered last year.

Reflections
For 50 years,
National PTA’s Reflections program has helped students explore
their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase
confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more
successful in school and in life. The 2018-2019 theme "Heroes Around Me" will spark imagination and creativity
in school and at home. Each year, hundreds of
thousands of students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create and submit original
works of art in one or all of the available arts categories, which are Dance Choreography, Film, Literature, Music, Photography, Visual
Arts. If your child is interested in submitting an entry, the deadline is
November 2nd. Please contact Prassu Mehta at prastavna@yahoo.com for more information and
details on how to enter. All work must be the student's own without any outside
assistance. Winners will move on to the district, state, and national levels if

Spirit Wear Distribution
If you placed an order for Spirit Wear in September and have been patiently awaiting the arrival of your new clothes, the wait is almost over! Items were shipped from our vendor last week. Once received, orders will be packaged and distributed to your students via their homeroom teacher. Keep checking those backpacks, your new wardrobe will be arriving soon!
